Paul said The Israelites sinned in thewilderness because they didn’t believe God or have faith (Hebrews3:19). He declares that because they didn’t have faith intheir God, there will remain an opportunity, later, to enter God’srest or Sabbath (Hebrews 4:6).Hebrews 3:6: But Christ as a son over his ownhouse; whose house are we, if we hold fast theconfidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm untothe end.Paul explains that in addition to faith, a Christian must continue inhope until the end. So faith and hope are two gifts from God thatflow one from the other (I Corinthians 13:13). Faith is definedas the substance of things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1). Faith andhope are tied together when you believe God, in that He “promises”something for you in the future. You have the necessaryhope by knowing it will happen. To this point, you are absolutelyconfident that you already have it. Faith is the spiritual keepingof The Fifth Commandment which insures long life. When youspiritually rest on The Seventh Day, you are spiritually keepingThe Fourth Commandment, which is a “promise” from God allowingyou to enter God’s rest. What is God’s rest?
