This is because, if youhave that special kind of “faith” then you already have passedfrom death to life.How can a person who believes in The Word of God find thisformula any simpler? Can anyone understand salvation in morebasic terms than these very words of Christ, The Savior? If youhave already done this and keep absolute faith in God, then youhave obtained salvation!Are Works Necessary?Some Christians say that you can’t merely believe in God and Jesusand then automatically be saved. They say that you must dogood works. You are told to perform righteous acts. In their wayof thinking, faith does save you, but the idea is that there must besomething more that you have to do to receive immortality. Tothe natural mind of man, it does not seem fair to receive somethingof this magnitude as a gift alone. So man’s natural mindtends to think in terms of earning it - or at least partially so.But, there is even more to this equation. Going further with thisline of thinking, there are those Christians who say that you mustfollow The Letter of The Law as the only avenue to be saved.This notion goes a step further. You will probably be told by thesewell-meaning people that by doing so, only then will you proveyour faith. In other words, if you don’t take positive action, thenyour faith is not real. Is this what The Bible teaches?On the other side of the equation, there are those individuals whofeel there is complete sufficiency for saving them by merely believingin God and Christ. These people teach that a person onlyhas to believe and then, salvation is theirs. These two views are
