What Or Who Was Melchizedek?151who do not have an inheritance. Why is the inheritance so important? The entire theme or story of your Bible is about God’splan of restoring The Garden of Eden and The Tree of Life toAdam and Eve’s progeny (Genesis 3:15). It all comes throughEve’s children of the promised seed - or the order (genealogy)of her children who are righteous, by faith through Christ. This is what Genesis to Revelation is all about. It concerns therestored Tree of Life in “paradise” which occurs in the last chapterof Revelation 22. God’s Story begins in The Garden and endsin The Garden. It is Alpha and Omega. Without Melchizedek, there is no salvation. It is all about an inheritance of the completewealth and riches in Christ from God, The Father. That iswhy “the inheritance” is so important and must be given freely(by grace). There is no payment by any Law - for the defense ofyour sins - just as with carnal Israel and the rest of the unconvertedworld. It must be completely and totally free - or elsesalvation and forgiveness of your sins against God will not beforgiven. That is what Job had to learn. Now, you can understandwhy Abraham and Jacob tithed. After Abraham defeatedLot’s captives and he had obtained all the spoils of war, he tooknothing. He only gave ten percent (a tithe) to Melchizedek. Intruth, Abraham gave all that he had - just as a Christian does forthose in need. Had Abraham taken more than the 10% he gave toMelchizedek then the defeated kings and their people would havebeen destitute. As real Christians do, Abraham was concernedabout their needs instead of his own. When Abraham gave the tenpercent to Melchizedek, he had nothing remaining from his victory. He totally relied on God for his prosperity.Since Abraham had not received his inheritance of “the promisedseed” yet, he gave the tithe to show that he had the faithto wait for his inheritance when Christ comes and restores God
