But more than that,the topic is faith that saves a person. Yet, in all this, you will findthat works, also, seem to be a necessary part of the experience.James declared:Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith; and I haveworks: shew me thy faith without thy works, andI will shew thee my faith by my works (James2:18).What is James saying? He is telling you to prove your faith. Inorder to do that, a person must have some works. The idea is thatthe works prove that a person is faithful - and actually believesin God and Christ.Human ReasoningConsider the following statement. “Works clearly prove one hasfaith.” This means that, as a result of a person’s faith, the evidenceof that faith is positive action of performing certain works.By logic this means, “Without the works, there is no evidence ofthe faith.” This basic idea can take many forms. In fact, todayyou will probably find a “Heinz variety” of notions about whattype of works can prove (or reveal) a person’s faith.
