This would be the eventual destruction broughtabout by Rome in 66-70 A.D. That is why John said, “… 8 Bringforth therefore fruits meet [acceptable] for repentance…” Herevealed that trouble was coming. Now the question is, what waswrong with The Pharisees and Sadducees which made it impossiblefor John to baptize them? Many bypass this question, figuringthe problem with these top religious figures was that they were allsteeped in their traditions, along with being self-righteous aboutit.
