How Faith Saves267If any man will do his will, he shall know of thedoctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speakof myself (John 7:17).Christ Kept The Fifth CommandmentJesus honored His Father not merely in “the letter” but in “thespirit,” because He was totally humble like unto a little child(Matthew 18:4). He lived by every “word” of God and only followedGod’s “will” (Matthew 4:4).Christ regarded nothing in His human ability, but was totally insubjection to His Father’s “will.” This was for Him a state ofspiritually, keeping The Fifth Commandment in His mind andheart. That is total, absolute and complete faith in His Father- His Father, who had given Him eternal life. This is the reasonthis level of supreme faith saves. By keeping The Fifth Commandment,spiritually, in faith, Christ demonstrated completebelief in His Father. Most human parents desire to receive thisfrom their children.Any loving parent only wants the best for their children. Therefore,it pleases the parents when the children honor their parentsby believing they would tell the children only what is good forthem. This is the faith process being developed at an early age.Many worthy parents receive this kind of faith from their childrenand that is the faith God wants. God is the supreme parent, becauseGod has an unlimited supply of good things to give to Hischildren.
