The Two Thessalonian Epistleswere written between 51 and 52 A.D. Why were they composed?Simply because some were teaching the notion that the resurrectionwas past and/or Christ was going to return at any moment.False brethren were creeping in and denying the teachings of thetrue Apostles. Paul had to write these letters to clarify the causeof the problem. Paul didn’t want anything or anyone, to fool orconfuse them concerning The Return of Christ. He stated thatsome instruction had come to them “as if” this information camedirectly from The Apostles (II Thessalonians 2:1-2). In this context,it is important to realize that first and foremost, before TheReturn of Christ, there must be a great falling away from thetruth of Christianity (II Thessalonians 2:3).There is another event tied directly to this.
