Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA).

With majors in: Environmental Health, Family and Consumer Studies, Health Administration, Health
Information Management, Occupational Health and Safety, and Public Health
Location: Kelvin Grove campus
Course Duration: 3 years full-time (Environmental Health, Health Information Management, Family and
Conumer Studies, Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health); 3 years full-time or 6 years part-time
(Health Administration only)

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Course Requirments
Arrangements to complete the course through a ‘sandwich’ program can be discussed with the Course
Coordinator. This method of attendance is relevant to students living outside the Brisbane region and those
who are employed as trainee Environmental Health Officers. Trainee Environmental Health Officers are
permitted a maximum of six years to complete the course.
Professional Recognition
Students who complete the Environmental Health major will be eligible for membership of the Australian
Institite of Environmental Health and the Environment Institute of Australia. This course is the only one
available in Queensland from which graduates will be accredited to work as an environmental health officer
within the state.
