Design methodologies; process; creativity and product innovation;<br />

skills, using the library and other information services; assessing,<br />

organising and evaluating information. Continues to<br />

expose students to a variety of presentation techniques and<br />

examples lined to Interior Design 2. Investigation of environmentally<br />

The manufacture, assembly and fabrication of furniture, fittings<br />

furniture items, focuses on functional, maintenance, life span,<br />

economic properties. History of furniture design, materials<br />

and construction.<br />

■ ARB550 INDUSTRIAL DESIGN 3<br />

Product design in depth. The projects are cross-referenced with<br />

other subject areas which will provide an integration of knowledge<br />

and skills acquired in the previous semesters. During<br />

the design projects, different specialist expertise is included.<br />

Lectures cover: case studies; design innovation; design methods.<br />

Production techniques in relation to different materials, various<br />

methods for different finishing operations, various methods<br />

quality control methods; production cost. Field studies include<br />

visits to manufacturing industries. The application of production<br />

techniques in studio design projects using CAD.<br />

for production of advanced 2D engineering drawings.<br />

in the production of design presentations to clients.<br />

shopping centres, theatres, medical clinics, taverns, restaurants.
