■ LEN611 EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTION FOR<br />

CHALLENGING BEHAVIOUR IN THE<br />

CLASSROOM<br />

This unit aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge<br />

for regular and special educators working in the area of behaviour<br />

management in schools. Preventative behaviour management<br />

practices will be addressed for the school and classroom<br />

and more specialised skills and strategies that may be<br />

utilised with challenging behaviour will be examined.<br />

■ LEN612 BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT:<br />

PROGRAMS & PLANNING<br />

This unit will present behaviour management interventions<br />

for implementation in the supportive school environment.<br />

Skills of consultation and negotiation will be developed to<br />

enable dissemination to the broader educational community.<br />

Severe and aggressive behavioural problems will be investigated<br />

and interventions determined. Emphasis will be on the<br />

development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance<br />

of appropriate interventions.<br />

Special educational needs of school (P-12) and TAFE college<br />

educational needs; developing teaching/learning strategies<br />

suited to learners’ needs. Participation in fieldwork experiences<br />

involves the investigation of the resource/support teacher’s<br />

role in assisting students with special learning needs and<br />

collaborating with teachers and administrators.<br />

of the content is strongly based on an adjunct model<br />

This unit covers theoretical and practical biological chemistry<br />

chain and ATP synthesis; role of pH and biological buffers<br />

and regulation of metabolism.<br />

■ LSA222 LABORATORY INSTRUMENTATION<br />

This unit extends the laboratory skills necessary for the routine<br />

operation of a laboratory with consideration given to the<br />

importance of Health and Safety. The unit introduces the basic<br />

theory and application of chromatography with particular<br />

emphasis on thin-layer, partition-adsorption and column molecular<br />

sieve and ion exchange methods as well as electrophoresis.<br />
