(Queensland) Prize<br />

Awarded to the graduating student of the Bachelor<br />

of Business degree who demonstrates the best overall<br />

performance in the units COB217 Writing for<br />

the Communication Professions, COB203 Communication<br />

Research Methods and COB318 Organisational<br />

Communication. The recipient of the award<br />

should be a student member of the Society of Business<br />

Communicators (Queensland) at, or prior to,<br />

the time of graduation.<br />

Suzanne Lines Memorial Scholarship*<br />

Sponsored by the Australian Services Union and the<br />

Brisbane City Council. Eligible students include<br />

second year Business students enrolled in the<br />

Industrial Relations major or intending to take the<br />

Industrial Relations specialisation in their final year<br />

of study and students undertaking the Graduate<br />

Diploma in Industrial Relations.<br />

Taxation Institute of Australia Prize<br />

Awarded to the full-time or part-time Bachelor of<br />

Business student majoring in Accountancy or<br />

Banking and Finance who achieves the best<br />

academic result in the unit AYB325 Taxation Law.<br />

FACULTY OF EDUCATION<br />

The following list of prizes are subject to final<br />

approval by respective donors and may be changed<br />

or withdrawn without notice.<br />

Australian College of Education Award<br />

Awarded on a year to year basis to the most<br />

outstanding graduate of initial teacher education.<br />

The awardee must have been enrolled in the<br />

Bachelor of Education (Pre-service) Secondary,<br />

Primary, Early Childhood or a double degree<br />

program entailing the Bachelor of Education<br />

(Secondary) award at <strong>QUT</strong> for at least two years<br />

full-time or equivalent and must have achieved the<br />

highest overall course GPA.<br />

Australian Association of Special Education<br />

Award<br />

Awarded annually to the outstanding graduate completing<br />

one of the Bachelor of Education (Pre-service)<br />

ED50, ED51, ED52 and who has outstanding<br />

performance in a practicum unit undertaken in a<br />

Special/Support inclusive educational environment;<br />

who achieves the highest performance in two of the<br />

units of Special/Support inclusive education<br />

(HMB375, LEB331, LEB332, EAB324, CPB338,<br />

LEB305, PRB301) and who has achieved the highest<br />

overall course GPA in cases where more than<br />

one student has achieved the highest performance<br />

in the units for Special/Support inclusive education.<br />

Students enrolled in a double degree entailing the<br />

Bachelor of Education (Secondary) award who have<br />

achieved the highest performance in two of the aforementioned<br />

units are also eligible for the award.<br />

Queensland Institute for Educational<br />

Administration Award<br />

Awarded on a year to year basis to the outstanding<br />

graduate in educational administration. The student<br />

must have graduated in the year of the award with<br />

the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) in<br />

educational leadership/management studies at<br />

<strong>QUT</strong>.<br />

FACULTY OF HEALTH<br />

The following list of prizes is subject to final<br />

approval by respective donors and prizes may be<br />

changed or withdrawn without notice.<br />

Allergan Optical Prize<br />

Awarded to the third year student who gains the<br />

highest aggregate mark in the units OPB509<br />

Optometry 5 and OPB609 Optometry 6.<br />

Australian Institute of Environmental Health<br />

Prize<br />

Awarded to the student who obtains with distinction<br />

the highest grade point average in the Bachelor of<br />

Health Science (Environmental Health).<br />

Australian Optometrical Association Clinical<br />

Excellence Award<br />

Awarded to a fourth-year Optometry student taking<br />

into account aggregate marks in OPB705 Clinical<br />

Optometry 7, OPB805 Clinical Optometry 8 and<br />

OPB807 Practice Management, and clinical<br />

performance as judged by clinical instructors in<br />

Optometry.<br />

Centaur Memorial Fund for Nurses Award<br />

Donated by the committee of the Centaur Memorial<br />

Fund for Nurses, and awarded to the student who<br />

gains the best grade point average in the final<br />

semester of the Bachelor of Nursing (Preregistration)<br />

course.<br />

Robert Chan Award for Clinical Dietetics<br />

Awarded to the student who demonstrates<br />

outstanding application of clinical dietetics, based<br />

on performance in the unit PUP122 Practice in<br />

Clinical Dietetics.<br />

L.K. Claxton Award<br />

Donated by the Australian Podiatry Association (Qld)<br />

and awarded to the student who shows the greatest<br />

proficiency in the first year of clinical studies.
