Australian Institute of Medical Scientists Prize<br />

Donated by Radiometer Pacific and awarded to the<br />

graduand who obtains, with distinction, the highest<br />

aggregate marks over all of the clinical techniques<br />

units of the Associate Diploma in Clinical<br />

Techniques – Laboratory strand.<br />

Australian Laboratory Services Pty Ltd Prize<br />

Awarded to a full-time or part-time student of the<br />

Bachelor of Applied Science (Applied Chemistry)<br />

or the multidisciplinary Bachelor of Applied Science<br />

with major studies in Chemistry who has the best<br />

results in the final-year Analytical Chemistry units.<br />

Australian Organisation for Quality Award<br />

Awarded annually to the most outstanding graduand,<br />

based on the highest grade point average over the<br />

duration of the course.<br />

Australian Society for Parasitology Prize<br />

Awarded to the student with the highest mark in the<br />

practical component of the unit LSB500<br />

Microbiology 5.<br />

Australian Society of Cytology Prize<br />

Awarded to the student gaining the highest mark in<br />

the cytology unit LSA425 Cytological Techniques 4.<br />

Alan Bailey Prize<br />

Awarded to the student with the best overall<br />

performance in LSB557 Management of Exploited<br />

Populations or LSB677 Pest Management in the final<br />

year of the Bachelor of Applied Science (Biology).<br />

Boehringer Mannheim Prize<br />

Donated by Boehringer Mannheim Australia Pty Ltd<br />

for best overall academic performance in the final<br />

year of the Bachelor of Applied Science<br />

(Biotechnology) major. The award provides<br />

additional financial assistance towards conference<br />

attendance for graduands enrolled in the Bachelor<br />

of Applied Science (Honours) Degree.<br />

David Barry Memorial Prize<br />

Awarded to the student with the best overall<br />

academic performance in the units LSB562 Systems<br />

Ecology and LSB667 Conservation Biology.<br />

Canberra – Packard Prize<br />

Awarded to the graduand undertaking major studies<br />

in Physics who has obtained the best academic<br />

record in the final year of the multidisciplinary<br />

Bachelor of Applied Science.<br />

Castlemaine Perkins Scholarship in Applied<br />

Chemistry<br />

Offered annually for a period of one academic year<br />

to a student chosen from those who satisfactorily<br />

complete the fourth semester of the full-time<br />

program of the Bachelor of Applied Science<br />

(Applied Chemistry) or the Bachelor of Applied<br />

Science (Chemistry major).<br />

Centre for Medical and Health Physics Prize<br />

Awarded to the student who, in the opinion of the<br />

Director of the Centre, is the best graduand of the<br />

Master of Applied Science – Medical Physics strand.<br />

CRA Exploration Mapping Prize<br />

Donated by CRA Exploration Pty Ltd, and awarded<br />

to the best project student in the Bachelor of Applied<br />

Science (Geology) for demonstrated ability in<br />

geological mapping.<br />

Diagnostic Technologies Prize<br />

Donated by the Cooperative Research Centre for<br />

Diagnostic Technologies to the most outstanding<br />

Bachelor of Applied Science (Biotechnology)<br />

graduand, based on the highest grade point average<br />

over the duration of the course.<br />

George Edward Curphey Prize in Mathematics<br />

Awarded to the student enrolled in the Bachelor of<br />

Applied Science (Mathematics) who, in the opinion<br />

of the Head of the School of Mathematics, is the<br />

most academically outstanding graduate of the year.<br />

George Edward Curphey Prize in<br />

Mathematical Modelling<br />

Awarded to the student enrolled in the Bachelor of<br />

Applied Science (Mathematics) who obtains the best<br />

performance of the year in the unit MAB632<br />

Mathematical Modelling, providing that the Head<br />

of School judges the student to be of sufficiently<br />

outstanding merit.<br />

James Vincent Duhig Prize<br />

Donated by the Australian Institute of Medical<br />

Scientists, and awarded to the student who gains the<br />

highest pass, with distinction, in the unit LSB560<br />

Histopathology 5 in the Bachelor of Applied Science<br />

(Medical Laboratory Science).<br />

Hugo Flecker Memorial Prizes<br />

Donated by the Royal Australasian College of<br />

Radiologists, Queensland Branch, and awarded to<br />

students in the third year of the Bachelor of Applied<br />

Science (Medical Imaging Technology) and the<br />

Bachelor of Applied Science (Radiotherapy<br />

Technology) respectively who obtain the best<br />

performance in the clinical practice units for that year.<br />

Awarded to the student obtaining the highest marks<br />
