Pero en lo sucesivo deben rodearse de un conjunto deobligaciones que se imponen tanto a los padres como a los hijos:obligaciones de orden fisico (cuidados, contacto, higiene, limpieza,proximidad atenta), amamantamiento de los ninos por <strong>la</strong>smadres, preocupacion por <strong>una</strong> vestimenta sana, ej ercicios fisicospara asegurar <strong>el</strong> buen desarrollo d<strong>el</strong> organismo: cuerpo a cuerpopermanente y apremiante de los adultos con los ninos. La familiaya no debe ser exclusivamente <strong>una</strong> red de r<strong>el</strong>aciones que se inscribepor <strong>el</strong>lo en un estatus social, un sistema de parentesco, unmecanismo de transmision de los bienes. Debe convertirse en unmedio fisico denso, saturado, permanente, continuo, que envu<strong>el</strong>va,mantenga y favorezca <strong>el</strong> cuerpo d<strong>el</strong> nino. Asume entonces <strong>una</strong>figura material al recortarse en <strong>una</strong> extension mas restringida; seorganiza como <strong>el</strong> entorno proximo d<strong>el</strong> nino, y tiende a convertirsepara <strong>el</strong> en un marco inmediato de supervivencia y evolucion.Lo cual entrana un efecto de estrechamiento o al menos <strong>una</strong> intensificacionde los <strong>el</strong>ementos y <strong>la</strong>s r<strong>el</strong>aciones que constituyen <strong>la</strong>familia restringida (<strong>el</strong> grupo padres-hijos). Lo cual entrana asimismocierta inversion de los ej es: <strong>el</strong> <strong>la</strong>zo conyugal ya no sirve unicamente(y acaso ni siquiera en primer lugar) para establecer <strong>la</strong>union entre dos ascendencias, sino para organizar lo que actuanide matriz para <strong>el</strong> individuo adulto. Sigue sirviendo, sin duda, paradar continuidad a dos linajes y por lo tanto para producir <strong>la</strong> descendencia,pero tam bien para fabricar en <strong>la</strong>s mejores condicionesposibles un ser humano que llegue al estado de madurez. La nueva"conyugalidad" es mas bien aqu<strong>el</strong><strong>la</strong> que une a los padres y loshijos. La familia -aparato restringido y localizado de formacionseconsolida dentro de <strong>la</strong> gran familia-alianza tradicional. Y al mismotiempo <strong>la</strong> salud -en primer termino <strong>la</strong> salud de los hijos- pasaa ser uno de los objetivos mas urgentes de <strong>la</strong> familia. El rectingulopadres-hijos debe llegar a ser <strong>una</strong> suerte de homeostasis de salud.En todo caso, desde fines d<strong>el</strong> siglo XVIII <strong>el</strong> cuerpo sano, limpio,va.lido; <strong>el</strong> espacio purificado, aseado, aireado; <strong>la</strong> distribucion medicamenteoptima de los individuos, los lugares, <strong>la</strong>s camas, losutensilios, y <strong>el</strong> juego d<strong>el</strong> "cuidadoso" y <strong>el</strong> "cuidado", constituyenalg<strong>una</strong>s de <strong>la</strong>s leyes morales esenciales de <strong>la</strong> familia. Y desde esa
