RESUMEN
La oxitocina es una hormona que incide en la cognición social a través de los sistemas moduladores de
esta hormona e impactan en áreas como la confianza, el comportamiento de apego, la respuesta al
estrés, la memoria social, la capacidad de reconocer las emociones de otras personas y comprender los
estados mentales. Es sintetizada en el hipotálamo y transportada por la hormona neurofisina a través
de los axones de las neuronas hipotalámicas hasta llegar a sus lugares de acciones. En la presente
revisión de artículos se expondrá principalmente el rol modulador de la oxitocina en la interacción
social; la neurofilosofía de la vida social del ser humano; los aspectos comportamentales de la
oxitocina en la cognición social y por último se tratará casos clínicos relacionados a la liberación de
esta hormona. Se determinó que la oxitocina cumple con varias funciones fisiológicas en el organismo
como activadora, de modulación y como reductor a través de su acción como neurotransmisora y
neuromoduladora impactando así condiciones sociales de las personas.
ABSTRACT
Oxytocin is a hormone that affects social cognition through the modulating systems of this hormone
and impacts areas such as trust, attachment behavior, stress response, social memory, the ability to
recognize the emotions of others people and understand mental states. It is synthesized in the
hypothalamus and transported by the neurophysin hormone through the axons of the hypothalamic
neurons to their sites of action. In the present review of articles, the modulating role of oxytocin in
social interaction will be exposed; the neurophilosophy of the social life of the human being; the
behavioral aspects of oxytocin in social cognition and finally, clinical cases related to the release of
this hormone will be discussed. It was determined that oxytocin fulfills various physiological functions
in the body as an activator, modulator and reducer through its action as a neurotransmitter and
neuromodulator, thus impacting people's social conditions.
