Aktionstag macht Logistik begreifbar
Bremen gehört zu den Logistik-Hotspots in Deutschland. Nun wird Logistik aber vor allem hinter den Kulissen geleistet.
Sichtbar ist sie meist nur, wenn etwas schiefläuft. Als Folge wird Logistik oft als langweilig oder sogar störend wahrgenommen.
Dabei ist sie in Deutschland mit einer Leistung von 274 Mrd. Euro der drittgrößte Wirtschaftsbereich nach der Automobil -
industrie und dem Handel. Mehr als drei Millionen Menschen sind in verschiedensten logistischen Berufsbildern beschäftigt.
Sie bewegen nicht nur Waren, Güter und Informationen, sie steuern und planen vor allem. Logistik sorgt dafür, dass der
Lieblingsjoghurt verfügbar ist, dass Schnittblumen erst blühen, wenn sie im Laden stehen, oder dass Menschen nach
Katastrophen schnellstmöglich Hilfe erhalten. Um der breiten Öffentlichkeit die wahre Bedeutung der Logistik zu vermitteln,
gibt es jedes Jahr im April den „Tag der Logistik“. 2019 gewährten rund 270 Unternehmen und Organisationen einen Blick
auf ansonsten unsichtbare Abläufe – und sorgten damit für „Aha-Erlebnisse“ bei rund 23 000 Besucher in Deutschland und
15 weiteren Ländern. In Bremen und Bremerhaven standen zehn Veranstaltungen auf dem Programm. Zu den Highlights
zählte das „Innovationslabor digitale Logistik“ des Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrums Bremen oder das Event bei F.W.
Neukirch, wo rund 70 Teilnehmer erleben konnten, wie der Kaffee in die Tasse kommt. Nächster „Tag der Logistik“ ist der

Jedes Jahr im April findet bundesweit der
„Tag der Logistik“ statt. Auch in Bremen und
Bremerhaven haben sich im Jahr 2019 wieder
Unternehmen und Einrichtungen der Logistik
beteiligt, um interessierten Besuchern einen
Einblick in die vielfältige Branche zu ermög -
lichen.

in Bremen and Bremerhaven took
part once again in 2019 to give interested visitors
an insight in the versatile logistics sector.
Day of action for tangible logistics
Bremen is one of Germany's logistics hotspots. But logistics refers to activities that take place primarily behind the scenes.
It usually only becomes visible when something goes wrong. Consequently, logistics is often seen as being boring or even
disruptive. And yet it is Germany's third largest economic sector after the car industry and the retail trade, generating output
of 274 billion Euro. More than three million people work in many different logistics jobs. They not only move goods and information,
above all they are involved in controlling and planning. Logistics makes sure that popular brands of yoghurt are
always on the shelves, that cut flowers don't open until they are in the shop, or that people receive aid swiftly in a disaster
situation. Every April, the Supply Chain Day is held to convey the true meaning of logistics to the general public. In 2019,
around 270 companies and organisations opened their doors so that people could see the otherwise invisible processes –
providing more than a few surprises for roughly 23,000 visitors in Germany and 15 other countries. Bremen and Bremerhaven
hosted ten Supply Chain Day events. The highlights included the Innovation Lab Digital Logistics by the SME 4.0 Centre of
Expertise Bremen or the event held at F.W. Neukirch, which showed around 70 guests how coffee gets into the mug.
