Timeless Rapture: Inspired Verse from the Shangpa Masters

CHÖKYI SENGÉ
In all his past lives, Kyergang-pa Chökyi Sengé was spiritually
nourished by Bodhisattva Great Compassion, and in this life, his
intense diligence in meditation led him to the supreme accomplishment
of inseparability with that exalted bodhisattva. Chökyi Sengé gained effortless
mastery, like the stream of a river, of the mind of awakening’s two
aspects. From the noble master Mokchok-pa, he received the exclusive
transmission of the dakinis’ lineage. Bodhisattva in his final lifetime before
enlightenment, he attained enlightenment in the eastern pure land Lapis
Light, as Transcendent Buddha Glory of Immaculate Space.
To this master, Öntön Kyergang-pa Chökyi Sengé, buddhas and their
spiritual heirs bestowed infinite numbers of teachings, including the following:
Noble Tara sang:
The vital point of Illusory Body is lack of intrinsic reality:
Destroy your firm belief in the solidity of things.
The vital point of Lucid Dream is directed intent:
Integrate this with your daily life.
The vital point of Clear Light is devotion:
Pray.
The vital point of benefiting others is compassion:
Renounce self-centered bias.
and [on another occasion, she sang]:
If you give up dualistic clinging,
Your desire will be calmed within itself.
If you recognize beings as your parents,
