Following this, Kyungpo Naljor again carried five hundred measures of<br />

gold to western India and asked, “What spiritual master has actually seen<br />

<strong>the</strong> Buddha?” Thirteen accomplished masters, including Pandit Lalitavajra,<br />

Aryadéva, and Dakini Sumati told him, “We’ll first give you empowerment<br />

and profound instruction, <strong>the</strong>n we’ll give you our prophecy.”<br />

Kyungpo Naljor offered <strong>the</strong>m five hundred measures of gold and received<br />

many empowerments and teachings. Then <strong>the</strong>y said, “The wisdom dakini<br />

known as Sukasiddhi is <strong>the</strong> root master of ten of us. In particular, she<br />

taught Aryadéva <strong>the</strong> inner practice of Buddha Selfless One: in seven<br />

months, he reached <strong>the</strong> realization of awakening’s eighth stage. She<br />

received instruction directly <strong>from</strong> Buddha Vajra Bearer and Buddha Selfless<br />

One. She will bless you and teach you her profound instructions,”<br />

<strong>the</strong>y predicted.<br />

“Where is she?” he asked.<br />

“If your vision is pure, you can see that dakini anywhere. If your vision<br />

is impure, you’ll never see her wherever you look. Sometimes you might<br />

find her at <strong>the</strong> place that brings happiness, known as Medicinal Sandalwood<br />

Grove. On <strong>the</strong> tenth day of <strong>the</strong> lunar month, she teaches by leading<br />

dakinis’ vajra feasts, and sometimes she teaches through words. Go<br />

<strong>the</strong>re and pray to her. She’ll give you <strong>the</strong> full four empowerments as well<br />

as all her profound instructions and subsequent guidance.”<br />

Kyungpo Naljor carried five hundred measures of gold and traveled to<br />

<strong>the</strong> forest that brings happiness, while reciting <strong>the</strong> Namo Buddha-ya prayer.<br />
