102 Timeless Rapture
The vajra song that introduces one’s own mind as the spiritual master:
Guru Bodhichitta Nama-mi
Incomparable spiritual masters who introduce the nature of mind,
Who have reached the bounds of benefit for themselves and who
serve others,
Whose impartial, omniscient compassion embraces all beings equally,
And who are imbued with kindness, to you I bow.
Spiritual masters who symbolize the nature of reality,
You dwell within the spiritual master of the dawning of the mind’s
nature.
The characteristics of the spiritual master of my own mind are these:
Not produced from causes, his nature is spontaneously present.
As he is not destroyed by conditions, antidotes have no effect on him.
He neither comes nor goes; he does not change in the past, present,
or future.
He transcends expression’s extremes, such as “real” or “imagined.”
He has no substance that the five sense faculties can perceive.
Nonexistent, he is the source for the appearance of myriad forms.
You might try to see him, but you can’t identify anything at all.
You might give up searching for him, but his nature appears
anywhere.
He doesn’t fall into categories of virtue or nonvirtue.
