242 Timeless Rapture
You attained Great Seal.
Advayavajra, at your feet I bow.
Born to the Brahmin caste, you became a non-Buddhist scholar,
But when you met Naropa, you converted to Buddhism.
When you received all the empowerments and instructions you could,
Your previous karmic propensity awakened; to you I pray.
At Nalanda Monastery, you became a renunciant.
You approached many learned and accomplished masters,
Such as the omniscient one who lived during the time of conflict,
Ratnakara-shanti.
You thereby hoisted the banner of renown as a great scholar; to you
I pray.
Like a lion, you lived at the temple
And alternated periods of teaching and meditation.
During this time, you saw the mother of the buddhas Vajra Yogini
And received her prophecy and blessings; to you I pray.
You knew that the time had come for inner conduct, practiced
secretly,
To aid your meditative absorption.
Before those who challenged you, you transformed alcohol and
your consort
Into milk and a bell; to you I pray.
When the monastic community expelled you from its residence,
You sailed away on a skin you spread on the Ganges River.
Further, you gained countless other common
And extraordinary capabilities; to you I pray.
At that point, since you had not attained the ultimate,
You followed your meditation deity’s advice
And went to the slopes of Glorious Mountain, where you joined
Prince Sakara
In search of a master who had gained accomplishment; to you I pray.
