Without your having been taught or encouraged by others, Your compassionate commitment for all beings increased. You gained inner knowledge of the Great Way’s deities And of awareness mantras’ sacred Teachings; I bow my head to you. You learned by yourself such subjects as the letters’ shapes; Single hearings of many subjects, such as the Buddha’s past lives and legends, Were enough for you to master them effortlessly, Pleasing many persons around you; I bow my head to you. At the age of seven, you composed many meditation texts for deities, Such as Vajra Creator of Delight, Vajra Yogini, Buddha Unmoving, Tara, and Gentle Melody. Chief among brilliant ones, I bow my head to you. Relying on the supremely learned master Jampa, You trained in the Three Collections and their commentaries And in the five subjects of Buddhist culture, including grammar and logic. Incomparable lion of speech, I bow my head to you. You approached the spiritual master named Kunga; At that Lord of the Teachings’ lotus feet, you gradually received the vows’ three levels. He completely filled your mind stream With boundless numbers of tantric empowerments, transmissions, and pith instructions; I bow my head to you. You completed the intensive meditations of an ocean of deities’ sacred circles And performed single-mindedly, day and night, An ocean of Secret Mantra’s phase of completion meditations To become a guide on the path that pleases the victors; I bow my head to you.
