The half-burned wood of this ordinary person’s speech
Has no brilliant glow of blessing,
Yet may the virtue of having written this book with devotion alone
Make me inseparable from the spiritual masters.
No noble qualities inhabit my being,
Yet a qualified spiritual master has accepted and nurtured me,
And I have received the blessings of a lineage of instruction such as
this.
With the power of superior intention and the wish to help Buddhism
and beings,
A fortunate person with three concerns,
Ngawang Yönten Gyatso, wrote this text
On the hillside of Tsadra Rinchen Drak,
On the occasion of the Victor’s descent from the heavens [the twentysecond
day of the ninth lunar month].
May this series of lute strings’ songs,
A sea of supplications in complex melodies,
Be heard by the beings of the three worlds,
And may they raise their voices in unison with mine.
May virtue and excellence increase!
