Timeless Rapture: Inspired Verse from the Shangpa Masters

My body of ripened karma is the Conqueror’s body:
Precious noble master, you introduced me to this!
My mental body is the body of ultimate enlightenment:
Precious noble master, you introduced me to this!
My body of habitual patterns is the Conqueror’s body:
Precious noble master, you introduced me to this!
Rinchen Tsöndru said from that time forth he never again experienced
the arising of concerns related to this life.
Then, as his masters had advised, he remained in the mountains, thinking
that he should set his sights either on death or on enlightenment.
While he stayed at Mokchok Cliff for twelve years [in retreat] with little
food, Sukasiddhi arrived and sang this:
Until you reach the nature of reality,
Human nourishment obscures your experience.
Cut your bonds to food and clothing;
Eat the food of nonconceptual meditation.
She repeated this three times; he cut his attachment to food and clothing.
Inconceivable meditative states arose.
During that time, he sang many vajra songs, such as this one, which
relates how the seven possessions of a universal monarch are complete
within the meditator:
I tried to defeat my foes and to protect my friends,
Yet there was no time I finally overcame my enemies
And no time I finally satisfied my friends.
Now my principal activity is to live without friends or foes.
I tried to propitiate gods and to dispel demons,
Yet there was no time I finally satisfied the gods
