210 <strong>Timeless</strong> <strong>Rapture</strong><br />

Is devotion’s supplications to <strong>the</strong> spiritual master,<br />

Accompanied by thoughts of impermanence, disillusionment, and<br />

compassion.<br />

Never apart <strong>from</strong> this union of skillful means and transcendent<br />

knowledge—<br />

Vital, supreme instruction for dispelling hindrances and enriching<br />

experience—<br />

May <strong>the</strong>y dissipate delusion on <strong>the</strong> path.<br />

May we traverse at once <strong>the</strong> inner paths and stages,<br />

Along <strong>the</strong> twelve levels of contemplative practice, three on each of<br />

four,<br />

Until reaching nonmeditation, <strong>the</strong> great body of ultimate<br />

enlightenment.<br />

May <strong>the</strong> immense creative power of experience and realization reach<br />

culmination.<br />

May appearances of delusion arise as great wisdom.<br />

May <strong>the</strong> formulations of existence and transcendence be purified in<br />

<strong>the</strong> basic nature.<br />

May <strong>the</strong> characteristics of affirmation and denial be freed in <strong>the</strong>ir own<br />

ground.<br />

May desire in <strong>the</strong> view, meditation, and conduct be exhausted.<br />

May <strong>the</strong> luminosity of <strong>the</strong> basis and <strong>the</strong> path, mo<strong>the</strong>r and child,<br />

merge.<br />

In this lifetime, may we fully achieve <strong>the</strong> two goals, for o<strong>the</strong>rs and<br />

ourselves—<br />

The epitome of enlightenment’s four bodies and five wisdoms,<br />

Powerful Buddha Vajra Bearer.<br />

May I now accomplish what I have always wished for:<br />

To reach <strong>the</strong> capital city of my Kagyu ancestors!<br />
