226 Timeless Rapture
the] five magnificent aspects of the teaching [the teacher, location,
time, audience, and teaching]: [if such an individual were to enunciate
new tantras now,] the [magnificent] time would be contradicted,
as this present time is the period of the doctrine’s decline.
Further, one doctrine cannot have two Teachers. (Ibid., pp. 20-21)
This last line reaffirms that Shakyamuni and Vajra Bearer cannot be dissociated,
since their different forms and distinct teachings do not count as
separate Teachers or initiators of the Buddhist doctrine, but as one and the
same Buddha.
