In this Tibetan Himalayan region, the religious kings’, translators’, and scholars’ kindness Caused the gems of the discourses’ and tantras’ doctrines to spread widely. 181
182 Timeless Rapture Among them, the accomplished masters’ unbroken lineage that produces signs of experience, The learned and accomplished Kyungpo’s Golden Doctrines, is more valuable than a wish-fulfilling jewel. Sukasiddhi and Niguma taught the tantras’ five ultimate subjects In a fivefold sacred circle of wisdom that illuminates the secret, supreme path. Their spiritual children, the lineage that preserves their tradition of teaching and meditation, are bodhisattvas who dwell on the stages of awakening. [Once you receive this lineage’s instructions,] blessings will arise even if you don’t meditate! When you merely hear the great garuda’s name, You cease to ponder the state of lesser birds; The splendid magnificence of the name Kyungpo’s Golden Doctrines 23 Impedes respect toward ordinary individuals’ conceptual writing. Millions of recitations of mantras done with benighted words in benighted mouths Can’t compare to the degree of signs gained from moments of meditative experience in these doctrines. Months and years spent turning the wheel of conceptual studies Do not bring a fraction of the transcendent knowledge provided by experiential cultivation of these subjects. These days, due to [declining] times, determined meditators are rare, Yet if you bring consistent and steady effort to experiential cultivation, With strong certainty in these teachings that cannot be doubted, Supreme accomplishment will quickly be yours: this was the wisdom dakinis’ final promise.
