Your excellent aspiration to teach, spread, uphold, and preserve
The Victor’s doctrine in general and the Shangpa lineage in particular
Revived the doctrine’s spread and prolonged the life of the profound
teachings.
Incomparable supreme guide, to you I pray.
To sublime learned and accomplished spiritual masters of every
lineage—
Kardo, Lhatsun, Tokmé, and Lord Mokchok—
And to many great individuals, such as Bokar Tulku,
You entrusted the Shangpa Lineage; to you I pray.
In places such as glorious Jonang and Zhang-zhung,
You restored the doctrine and continued its activity.
In the presence of sacred images in central and western Tibet, you
made a full measure of offerings with faith and positive aspirations.
You made your free and bountiful human life meaningful; to you
I pray.
Armies of barbarians overran the Himalayan region;
By the strength of previous aspirations, you traveled to Land of the
Exalted.
In every area, you taught and spread the Teachings.
Teacher of the excellent path to freedom, to you I pray.
You respectfully approached the sixteenth holder of the black crown,
Rangjung Rikpé Dorjé,
Who accepted you with great love as his disciple
And entrusted you with the lineage of accomplishment’s doctrine; to
you I pray.
You accepted as your disciples the Victor’s sons, who took rebirth
intentionally—
Zhamar, Situ, Jamgon, and Gyaltsab Rinpochés.
You granted them pith instructions of the four doctrines’ lineage,
As if you poured the contents from one vase into another; to you
I pray.
