Faithful and respectful ordained persons of central, western, and eastern Tibet, Cultivate experience in this way: Banish from your mind endless worldly activity And discard your affection for those you are attached to but can never satisfy. Spend your time in virtue and spurn your endless conversations. Renounce hope and fear related to retracing the past or anticipating the future. Life has no spare time; technical terms are pointless. Animals aren’t satisfied by water in a mirage: drink nectar. If you haven’t reached your goal, you can’t help others: First single-mindedly accomplish your own goal. Immeasurable compassion spontaneously helps others in this and future lives; Develop it toward all beings. Don’t be bound by your own wishes even for an instant; Develop the attitude that whatever you do is to help sentient beings. Reflect continually on death and impermanence; You will feel you need nothing and you’ll forget this life. Never separate yourself from meditation on your body as the deity’s, Appearance and emptiness, free from attachment. This accomplishes the two goals in months or years. Never be separate from intense, heartfelt prayer to the spiritual master. They cause experience and realization to arise effortlessly. Approach the dakinis and protectors. They will protect you from obstacles in this life, A Sea of Blessings 119

Apart from your own mind, there is no Buddha, nor sentient being; Know what seems external, whatever appears, to be mind. This mind is appearance and emptiness, a magic display. Freedom from grasping to magical illusion is luminous Great Seal. Beyond concepts of affirmation or denial, birth or death, existence or nothingness, Without meditation or mental activity, you are free from existence and transcendence. Karma and ripened karma are released in their own ground. Free from dualistic clinging, gaze into the great union. How amazing! Everyone has this uncontrived, ordinary awareness But is unaware of it. I have realized it through the kindness [of my master]. Now, don’t ask questions; develop determined certainty.
