If you don’t control your own mind,
You can meditate for ages, but you’ll just become exhausted.
After the last thought has ceased
And before the next arises, there’s a gap.
In its clarity without thought,
Without support, free from a root or foundation,
That fresh, present awareness
Is the body of ultimate enlightenment,
Your own mind, free from formulation.
Everything that appears is your own mind.
Mind itself is unformulated, ultimate enlightenment.
Therefore, thoughts are the body of ultimate enlightenment’s display.
Without hindering appearances, emptiness is accomplished.
Be mindful of that, whatever arises, whatever appears.
Always remain relaxed.
If you recognize your mind’s nature, repeatedly prolong the
experience.
Don’t contrive, don’t wander, rest the mind in itself,
Free from coming or going; birth, cessation, or resting place.
That’s Great Seal.
It’s important to maintain nondistraction in your life.
It’s important to keep it effortless and relaxed.
Cultivate experience like that.
I travel around the country without a destination.
A yogi without attachment
And the sun that circles the four continents
Both move slowly but never linger.
