<strong>Myths</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Beginning 91<br />

Egyptian solar-lunar calendar, a calendar cycle that lasted twenty-five years, with<br />

309 complete months.<br />

The conflict between <strong>the</strong> two sources can be seen fur<strong>the</strong>r in <strong>the</strong> claims about<br />

when <strong>the</strong> earth dried <strong>of</strong>f. Genesis 8:13 says that <strong>the</strong> earth dried <strong>of</strong>f by <strong>the</strong> first day <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> first month <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 601 st year <strong>of</strong> Noah’s lifetime. The next verse says that <strong>the</strong> earth<br />

dried <strong>of</strong>f on <strong>the</strong> twenty-seventh day <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> second month <strong>of</strong> Noah’s 601 st year. Some<br />

<strong>of</strong> this confusion occurred because <strong>the</strong> first dry period occurred on <strong>the</strong> 309 th day <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

P source chronology, which marks <strong>the</strong> connection to <strong>the</strong> solar-lunar calendar, but at<br />

<strong>the</strong> same time marks <strong>the</strong> 360 th day after Noah’s six hundredth birthday in <strong>the</strong> J source<br />

chronology, which marks <strong>the</strong> connection to <strong>the</strong> solar calendar.
