If the person is found to be an exact match, you can do one of three things:(a)(b)(c)Match the incoming record to the Banner record but not update any nullfields that exist for the person in Banner by selecting the Select ID button.Match the incoming record to the Banner record and choose to updateany null fields that exist for the person in Banner with data on theincoming record by selecting the Update ID button.Choose to ignore the matched status, and create the person as new byselecting the Create New button.9. After selecting one of the options above, the user will be returned to SHAEDISwhere they can continue processing the record. The asterisk (*) that hadappeared in the unlabeled field to the left of the Last Name field to indicatethe person had not been verified will no longer be displayed.New FormCommon Matching Entry Form (GOAMTCH)If Common Matching is turned on (on GUAINST), and the user is not excludedfrom Common Matching on GORCMUS, GOAMTCH is called from the Key Blockof SPAIDEN, SRAQUIK, SAAQUIK when an ID is generated or entered, and the IDdoes not already exist in Banner. Whether or not Common Matching is turned on,the user will be able to access GOAMTCH from SRIPREL, SAAEAPS, and SHAEDISas part of the matching process for data loads.You can enter information for name, address, telephone, date of birth, SSN, etc., inthe Data Entry block. The data entered can be used to assist with matching if thematching rule contains the field being entered. Regardless, the data entered in theData Entry block will be stored in Banner if the person is found to be new.The matching process is called when you perform a Next Block from the Data Entryblock or select the Duplicate Check button. Use the Duplicate Check button toexecute the matching process at any time during the entry of person information.Only those data elements in this form can be used for online matching rules.Note: If GOAMTCH is called from another form where you can createidentification records, the GENERATE ID button does not appear in theKey Block.In Banner Student, this form is found on the General Person Menu (*PERSON).January 2005 Student Release 7.0Confidential Release Guide 165
