Section I New User Interface - FunctionalEnhanced User PreferencesBroadcast MessagesThe Broadcast Message button on the toolbar becomes enabled whenever youreceive a broadcast message. You can view your message(s) in the BroadcastMessages section at the bottom of the screen.Users with a security class of Broadcast can send broadcast messages to all users. Tosend a broadcast message, create it on GUAMESG as usual, and choose BASELINEas the recipient.Enhanced User PreferencesAlthough Banner now features the colors and style of Luminis, you have the optionof customizing the colors via the General User Preferences Maintenance Form(GUAUPRF). Custom colors can be specified at the site level, by logging in as thebaseline user and changing the values in the Default Value fields, and also at theindividual user level, by changing the values in the User Value fields.Note: Most of the changes you make on this form appear immediately on allBanner forms; however, the General Menu Form (GUAGMNU) will notdisplay changed title bar preferences for form name, release number, ordatabase instance until you log out and log back in.General User Preferences Maintenance Form (GUAUPRF)Many changes have been made to this form for Release 7.0. Baseline users now havethe option to cancel out of a change prior to saving it. Additionally, all changes madewhile logged in as the baseline user are saved in the GURTPRF table. Lastly, newusers who are added to the database initially have the same user preferences as thebaseline ID.Note: Existing users’ records will no longer be removed from the GURTPRFtable when the baseline user’s preferences are updated.Display Options WindowThe Form Name Display Option pulldown list has been changed to the DisplayForm Name on Menu checkbox.Options (checkboxes) related to the client/server environment have beenremoved:January 2005 Student Release 7.0Confidential Release Guide 29
