IntroductionAPIsApplication Programming Interfaces (APIs) are used to facilitate the integration ofSCT Banner with other applications on campus and simplify code by encapsulatingbusiness logic in database packages. An API is a central program that creates,updates, and deletes data. APIs also execute and validate business rules beforeinserting or updating information.Documentation Updates for 7.0Chapter 2, Using Banner, has been removed from the Student User Guide. Thisinformation can now be found in the SCT Banner Getting Started Guide.Chapter 1, Database Schematics, has been removed from the Student TRM Supplement.This information can now be found in the Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs)available on the ActionWeb.Enhancements from Interim ReleasesThe following enhancements were contained in interim releases.
