Section 13 Problem ResolutionsRecruiting ModuleSRTLOAD,SOTCNVT(#98542)The GMAT data file supplies a four-digit code in positions 349-352 for college code.When FICE codes are used on STVSBGI to define college codes, rather than usingthe four-digit GMAT codes, SRTLOAD incorrectly assigns the wrong college code tothe GMAT records. There is no way to translate the GMAT college codes to the FICEcodes using SOTCNVT. This has been corrected. SOTCNVT will now allow for thesetup for STVSBGI codes, and SRTLOAD will convert the prior college STVSBGIcodes.You now have the option to use SOTCNVT with an Interface Type of GMAT and aValidation Table Name of SBGI. These conversion rules are tied directly to theSRATPFD variable PCOL_SBGI_CODE.• When a conversion rule exists on SOTCNVT for the value on the tape or whena DEFAULT or * rule exists, the converted STVSBGI value will be loaded to thetemporary table and pushed to Banner.• When no conversion rule exists for the code, the SAAERUL value forUNKNOWNPCOL will be loaded to the temporary table and pushed toBanner.• If there is no valid conversion rule and no SAAERUL value exists forUNKNOWNPCOL, no value will be loaded to the temporary table or pushedto Banner.• When there is no valid conversion rule or valid SAAERUL value, a message willbe displayed in the SRTLOAD output file indicating that there is no value to beloaded.Resolved in Release 7.0.SRTLOAD (#92202)When the College Board Student Search Service (SSS) tape was delivered with thePSAT/NMSQT in positions 248-250 and no SAT major in positions 156-158,SRTLOAD would abort with an error when the SAAERUL Rule Label PSATMAJORfor Group Code PREL was set to Y. SRTLOAD will now accommodate these files.Resolved in Release 6.2.Review of Processing SAT Majors and PSAT Majors:Student Search Service (SSS) tape files may include any combination of an SATmajor in positions 156:158 and/or a PSAT major in positions 248:250. Dependingon how your SOTCNVT rules have been built, the major listed in positions 156:158will be the major code that is loaded to the Temporary Table fieldSRTPREL_MAJR_CODE, which is a NOT NULL field. If your SAAERUL Rule LabelLOADMAJOR for Group Code PREL is set to Y, this is the major that will be loadedto the Banner Recruiting Major 1. If a major code appears in positions 159:161, andRule Label LOADMAJOR is set to Y, then this is the major code that will be loadedto the Banner Recruiting Major 2.
