Section 3 Concurrent Curricula Phase I - FunctionalDetails of Concurrent Curricula Foundation4. The Backfill procedure then repeats the algorithm described above to backfillup to six concentrations. The maximum number of SORLCUR rows that will be selected from any curriculumfor backfilling is two. (Only one is for Recruiting.)AdmissionsThis processing is the same as it is in Recruiting, but uses the SARADAP table andthe learner module of ADMISSIONS, with the added processing to also insert datafor a secondary curriculum. The maximum number of SORLCUR rows that will be selected for backfilling is two.If you want to have four majors associated with the same curriculum, and you wanttwo of those majors to display in the primary curriculum fields and two to display inthe secondary curriculum fields, then you will need to insert two SORLCUR rowsthat are identical except for their priority numbers. Then two of the majors shouldbe associated with one SORLCUR row, and the other two majors should beassociated with the second SORLCUR row.General StudentThis processing is similar to Recruiting, but uses the SGBSTDN table and the learnermodule of LEARNER.When decision codes are entered and/or SGBSTDN records are created, thefollowing processing takes place.1. A record is inserted into SGBSTDN using the data from the acceptedapplication.2. The Curriculum API is run to create entries in SORLCUR and SORLFOS for amodule of LEARNER using the curriculum data from the accepted application.3. The Backfill procedure is called to insert data into the curriculum fields onSGBSTDN.If rows are created using SAAQUIK, and a student record is created and not rolledfrom Admissions, then only rows with a learner module of LEARNER would beinserted into SORLCUR and SORLFOS. If SAAQUIK is used to create not only astudent record but also a recruiting and/or application record, then theappropriate SORLCUR and SORLFOS rows would be inserted with a learnermodule of RECRUIT and/or ADMISSIONS.Records are selected for backfilling by using the lowest priority SORLCUR row withthe highest sequence number, for the learner module of LEARNER. If the row isACTIVE and has a term code that is less than the To Term on the student recordbeing backfilled, the row is backfilled into the primary curriculum fields. Then eachof the SORLFOS rows attached to the backfilled SORLCUR row is examined in asimilar fashion. This process is repeated to determine if a secondary curriculumexists for the selected student record.Student Release 7.0 January 200556 Release Guide Confidential
