Section 7 Concurrent Curricula Phase 1 - TechnicalChanged PackagesProcessingThe SOKCURR package has also been modified to process data as follows:• The input parameters for the curriculum checking procedures now includethe module (RECRUIT, ADMISSIONS, LEARNER, OUTCOME), SORLCURrule number, SORLCUR sequence number, and the specific item's sequencenumber. The routines will read the value using the SORLCUR sequencenumber and the SORLFOS sequence number, as well as the SORLFOS learnermodule code.• Curriculum data is inserted into the SORLCUR and SORLFOS tables and isdefaulted into the SOACURR curriculum rule. Lists of Values are built fromthe SOACURR rules and the entered curriculum.• Each curriculum row is validated individually. If any entry is invalid, theappropriate warning or fatal error is displayed. The curriculum validationprocesses are:• p_checkbase• p_checkmajor• p_checkminor• p_checkconc• If any part of the curriculum is missing that is required (such as the majorcode), the Curriculum Group Object window processing will enforce the entryof the required data when the record is saved. In a later release, the window processing will enforce whatever rules have beenset up for each curriculum for required and non-required data.SOKCMSGThis procedure is related to SOKCURR, and it returns the error message and thecolumn the error pertains to. For example, if the major is missing on SARADAP, thiswill return the column SARADAP_MAJR_CODE_1 with the appropriate error message. The new procedure p_sorlcurerroritem has been added and is used to find themissing item on the form after the p_verifydata procedure has been executed inthe CURRICULUM_COMMIT trigger. The new function f_sorlcurerrormsg has been added and works likef_curriculumerrormsg. SMARQCM still uses the f_curriculumerrormsgprocedure, f_sorlcurerrormsg is used for the new curriculum window. Thisprocedure returns the curriculum error message.January 2005 Student Release 7.0Confidential Release Guide 219
