Section 3 Concurrent Curricula Phase I - FunctionalDetails of Concurrent Curricula Foundation6. Repeat the process for the SORLFOS rows associated with the selectedSORLCUR row, to fill in the Major1, Major2, Minor1, and Minor2 fields.Concentrations 1 through 3 for Major1 and Major2 are backfilled by firstselecting the SORLFOS concentration rows that have an Attached to Majorvalue of either the Major1 or Major2.Once all concentrations that are attached to either Major 1 or Major 2 havebeen backfilled, the remaining SORLFOS concentration rows are backfilled tothe remaining concentration fields.RecruitingCurriculum data is entered in the Curriculum window on SRARECR or in theCurriculum mini-block on SRAQUIK, or a row is created automatically through theStudent Self-Service admissions or prospects processing. The Curriculum windowuses edits to enforce existing restrictions (such as, at least one active major must becreated). When the curriculum records are saved, the Curriculum API is run toinsert and save the data. It then calls the Backfill procedure, which performs thefollowing tasks:1. The Backfill procedure selects the lowest priority row on SORLCUR having thehighest sequence number, for the learner module of RECRUIT, for the givenadministrative sequence number, and checks for an ACTIVE status. If the statusis ACTIVE, this record is made the primary curriculum on SRBRECR for thatrecruit, and the appropriate values are copied to the SRBRECR curriculumfields. If the status is INACTIVE, the next lowest priority row on SORLCUR forthe module of RECRUIT is selected and processed using the same criteria.2. The Backfill procedure then selects the lowest priority row on SORLFOShaving the highest sequence number, for the learner module of RECRUIT, forthe type of Major, and the same SORLCUR sequence number as above (justentered in Step 1), and checks for an ACTIVE status. If the status is ACTIVE, thisrecord is designated as Major1 for the primary curriculum chosen above forthat recruit, and the field values are copied to the SRBRECR curriculum fields. This process is repeated to find the next lowest priority SORLFOS row with thehighest SORLFOS sequence number that is active for the SORLCUR sequencenumber with a type of MAJOR. This is designated as Major2 for the primarycurriculum.3. The Backfill procedures selects the lowest priority rows on SORLFOS havingthe highest sequence numbers for the learner module of RECRUIT, for the typeof Minor, and the same SORLCUR sequence number as chosen above, andchecks for an ACTIVE status. If the status is ACTIVE, this record is designatedas Minor1 for the primary curriculum chosen above for that recruit. This process is repeated to find the next lowest priority SORLFOS row with thehighest SORLFOS sequence number that is active for the SORLCUR sequencenumber with a type of Minor. This is designated as Minor2 for the primarycurriculum.January 2005 Student Release 7.0Confidential Release Guide 55
