Section 3 Concurrent Curricula Phase I - FunctionalCreating and Updating Curriculum DataChanging a Major to One within a Different ProgramYou can use one of the following two options when changing a major to one withina different program. You can choose to maintain a complete history of the curriculachanges, or you can choose to maintain a minimal history of the curricula changes.Option 1 - Maintaining a Complete History of the ChangesUse the following steps to change a major to one that is within a different programwhile keeping a complete history of the change:1. Use Next Block or select the Curricula tab (from the main window ofSRARECR, SAAADMS, SGASTDN, SFAREGS, or SHADEGR) to access theCurriculum window.2. Select the curriculum row to be changed.3. Select the Change Curriculum button. The following will occur automatically:(a)(b)(c)A record will be inserted and duplicated from the curriculum record thatwas selected. An insert record and duplicate record will also beperformed for each field of study row attached to the selected curriculumrow.The duplicated curriculum and field of study rows will be inactivated.A new curriculum row will be inserted to allow for the entry of the newcurriculum. Enter the information for priority, program, etc., aspreviously described.4. Use Next Block to access the Field of Study block. Enter the data (priority,type, field of study, etc.) for the new major.5. Save your changes.Option 2 - Maintaining a Minimal History of the ChangesUse the following steps to change a major to one that is within a different programwhile keeping a minimal history of the change:1. Use Next Block or select the Curricula tab (from the main window ofSRARECR, SAAADMS, SGASTDN, SFAREGS, or SHADEGR) to access theCurriculum window.2. Insert a new row for the curriculum associated with the new major in theCurriculum block. Ensure that you enter the same priority number as that onthe curriculum row that is no longer valid.3.
