Section 2 New <strong>Banner</strong> Online Help - FunctionalSection 2New <strong>Banner</strong> Online Help - Functional<strong>Release</strong> <strong>7.0</strong> features a new online help system that contains information about formsand fields, as well as tasks you can perform with <strong>Banner</strong>. This help system runs in aWeb browser, and is available by choosing the Online Help button on the toolbar orthe Online Help option from the Help pulldown menu. Additionally, you can accessonline help by selecting the Help Center link on the main menu.Online help will be updated to coincide with deliveries of the <strong>Banner</strong> Bookshelf(approximately twice a year). Information about installing and configuring onlinehelp is contained in the Oracle Developer for <strong>SCT</strong> <strong>Banner</strong> Implementation <strong>Guide</strong>.Note: The Online Help button, Help Center link, and Online Help option fromthe Help pulldown menu are active upon installation of the <strong>7.0</strong> release,but do not lead to any online help content. Online help content will beavailable for download in Spring 2005 via the ActionWeb. In themeantime, your site administrator can download and install aplaceholder online help system according to the instructions in the<strong>Banner</strong> General <strong>7.0</strong> <strong>Release</strong> <strong>Guide</strong>.The new help system is not currently designed to be customized. Any changes madeto help files will be overwritten by subsequent deliveries of online help. SunGard<strong>SCT</strong> recommends maintaining customized information in Local Dynamic Helpwithin <strong>Banner</strong>.Tip: For forms with no help, the <strong>Banner</strong> online help error page may not appear forInternet Explorer users who use IE’s “friendly” error messages by default.
