These statuscodes are assigned a value of active or inactive on SORCACT. A curriculum orfield of study row can be designated as active or inactive using the CurriculumActivity Status Code field. Possible values are: ACTIVE, INACTIVE, orREMOVED.• Curriculum statuses codes are maintained on STVCSTS. These statuses areused to associate actions on the student’s record with an SORLFOS record andexist only on the Field of Study block. For example, when a learner initiallyapplies for a major of English, the curriculum status code on the SORLFOS rowwill be INPROGRESS. If the student decides to instead apply for Art History, theuser might now set the curriculum status code on the English row to beCHANGED or CHANGED MAJOR. Delivered values are: APPACCEPT, APPLIED,AWARDED, CHANGED, COMPLETED, DENIED, INPROGRESS, INSTACCEPT,PENDING, or SOUGHT.Automatic curriculum status code updates take place in Recruiting, Admissions,General Student, and Academic History. When status codes are “updated” ordecisions entered, the appropriate rows in the SORLCUR and SORLFOS tables areduplicated, and a new curriculum status is entered on the new row. You candetermine which curriculum status codes are to be mapped to each status ordecision code. If none are mapped, then default values will be used instead.• The curriculum status code for a recruit's major is automatically “updated” toAPPLIED if the recruit applies for admission to the same curriculum (term, college, level, and degree).• The curriculum status for the applicant is “updated” in Admissions when adecision is entered on an application. When a decision is entered, the activeSORLFOS rows for the application are duplicated. The curriculum status codeentered on these duplicated rows comes from the curriculum status codeassociated with the decision code on STVAPDC. If no curriculum status codehas been associated with the decision code, then seed data values are used forapplications that are accepted by the institution or applicant or are denied.January 2005 Student Release 7.0Confidential Release Guide 49
