Section 12 Miscellaneous EnhancementsRecruitingProcessingAuto Load ParameterThe Auto Load (Skip Dup Chk) parameter on SRRSRIN allows you to choosewhether to flag duplicates on a tape or skip the duplicate checking process to reducethe number of duplicates that would need to be handled manually on SRIPREL.Duplicates are flagged by SRRSRIN when the temporary tables contain recordshaving the same name and date of birth for the prospect code and/or tape IDchosen as parameter values when running SRRSRIN.SRRSRIN may find duplicates in the following circumstances:• Single tapes may report the same individual more than once for the prospectcode/tape ID.• Individual tapes may be loaded to the temporary tables multiple times usingthe same prospect code and/or tape ID.• Multiple tapes for the same prospect code could be loaded to the temporarytables with the same tape ID, and the same name could appear across multipletapes.• Web prospects having the same prospect code, name, and date of birth couldbe loaded to the temporary tables. The Auto Load (Skip Dup Chk) parameter is used to bypass the flagging ofduplicates by SRRSRIN and to automatically load records to Banner. Auto loadprocessing replaces the manual processing of matching and loading thoseduplicates on SRIPREL.When the Auto Load (Skip Dup Chk) parameter is set to Y, the matching process isinvoked, and NEW or MATCHED prospects are flagged. Those prospects areimmediately loaded to Banner. Duplicate checking does not occur.Since the records are loaded to Banner as flagged, each prospect that follows on thetape is evaluated against any records loaded, facilitating more matches, andpreventing records from being flagged as duplicates. When the Auto Load (SkipDup Chk) parameter is set to Y, records that were previously flagged as LOADEDmanually on SRIPREL for the same tape type and tape ID will not be processed bySRRSRIN.When the Auto Load (Skip Dup Chk) parameter is set to Y, the SRRSRIN output filewill resemble the SRRPREL output file with the information regarding the prospectsthat have been loaded. If SRRPREL is run after SRRSRIN is run, with the Auto Load (Skip Dup Chk)parameter set to Y for the same prospect code and tape ID, there will be no recordsprocessed. If all records are processed by SRRSRIN when the Auto Load (Skip DupChk) parameter is set to Y, there is no reason to run SRRPREL.Student Release 7.0 January 2005302 Release Guide Confidential
