Section 3 Concurrent Curricula Phase I - FunctionalDetails of Concurrent Curricula FoundationSince student records (SGASTDN) are effective term driven, a new student recordneeds to be created whenever a new SORLCUR and/or SORLFOS record is createdfor a term that does not match the effective term on any of the existing studentrecords. This is to ensure that the Backfill process works correctly and only backfillsthe appropriate curriculum rows to the appropriate student record.SFAREGS is used to update any student term or curriculum information if thestudent is registered for the term. Like SGASTDN, since it is effective term driven, anew student record must exist or be created whenever a new SORLCUR and/orSORLFOS record needs to be created for a term that does not match the effectiveterm of any existing student record. SFAREGS will automatically create a newstudent record whenever a new SORLCUR and/or SORLFOS record is created fora Key Block term that does not match the effective term on any of the existingstudent records. This is to ensure that the backfill process works correctly and onlybackfills the appropriate curriculum rows to the appropriate student record.Academic HistoryThis processing is the same as Recruiting, but uses the SHRDGMR table and thelearner module of OUTCOME.Backfilling ExamplesIf a recruit applied to History (priority 1) and Biology (priority 2) in the Bachelorof Arts undergraduate program (BA_UG), and the Web application is pushed, thefollowing takes place:• A row is inserted into SORLCUR to track the base curriculum (BA_UG) for theAdmissions module.• Two rows are inserted into SORLFOS for the field of study data, one for eachmajor (History and Biology).• The data entered into SORLCUR and SORLFOS is backfilled to theappropriate primary curriculum fields in SARADAP.Note: The values in the Module and Key Sequence fields displayed for theSORLFOS table are for demonstration purposes only. That data isactually determined by mapping an SORLFOS row to its parentSORLCUR row using the SORLCUR sequence number.
