Section 13 Problem ResolutionsRecruiting ModuleIf a PSAT major is listed on the tape in positions 248:250, and the SAAERUL RuleLabel PSATMAJOR for Group Code PREL is set to Y, then the PSAT major will beloaded in the SRTPREL_MAJR_CODE field, whether or not an SAT major is listed ontape in positions 156:160. This allows you to use the PSAT major on the tape as themajor to be loaded for the Banner Recruiting Major 1, if the Rule LabelLOADMAJOR for Group Code PREL is set to Y. When the PSAT major code isloaded to the SRTPREL_MAJR_CODE field, all the other majors are moved down inorder. So, if an SAT major code is listed in positions 156:158, and the PSAT majorreplaces it, that major code will now reside in positions 161:163 and will be loadedas the Banner Recruiting Major 2, if the Rule Label LOADMAJOR is set to Y. Thesame interests rules would apply at this point in the processing.Note: PSAT major codes and interests are converted differently than SAT majorcodes and interests. Separate rules apply on SOTCNVT. Please see theRecruiting or Admissions procedures sections in the Banner Student UserGuide for further information on Tape Load Processing.SRTLOAD (#84918)DEFAULT and * TERM conversions defined on SOTCNVT were being ignored bySRTLOAD for the recruiting term and catalog term.• The SOTCNVT rules for TERM were loaded first, if they existed.• The SRTLOAD term was loaded second if no SOTCNVT rule existed and theSRTLOAD Term Code parameter had been updated with a term value.• The SRAPRED rule for recruit term was used third if no SOTCNVT rule existedand no SRTLOAD term existed.• The Term 000000 would be defaulted if no prior term had been set up onSOTCNVT or entered on SRTLOAD or SRAPRED.Also, recruiting records were being created with incorrect catalog terms. These issues have been corrected. Resolved in Release 6.1.SRTLOAD (#88804)There are many times that records in data files will include a student's high schoolgraduation date but not a high school code. When SRTLOAD is run, since no schoolcode exists, a row is not created in SRTHSCH for the student, and therefore, theknown graduation year is never stored in the temporary tables. In this situation,SRTLOAD seems to use the default term parameters from SRTLOAD or SRAPRED,and it never checks the original data file for a more accurate term code for theSRARECR record. This has been corrected. Resolved in Release 6.1.SRTLOAD (#87244)In Student Releases 5.6 and 6.0, the use of a Prospect ID was established onSRTLOAD and the Web. The PROSPECT_ID function in SOBSEQN was delivered,as well as the prefix value P.Student Release 7.0 January 2005334 Release Guide Confidential
