With the unveiling of the Digital India programme the role of MeitY has
enhanced. The overarching vision of the programme is to transform India into
a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The programme has
three vision areas namely, digital infrastructure as a utility for every citizen,
governance and services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens by
designed to build holistic capabilities across infrastructure, manufacturing, skills
