Group of companies own and operate 10 of <strong>India</strong>'s 22 refineries with a combined<br />

refining capacity of 213.2 million metric tonnes per annum. <strong>India</strong>n Oil's crosscountry<br />

network of crude oil and product pipeline spans 10,909 km with a<br />

capacity of 75.55 MMTPA of crude oil and petroleum products and 96 MMSCMD<br />

of gas. This network is the largest in the country and meets the vital energy<br />

needs of the consumers in an efficient, economical and environment-friendly<br />

manner.<br />

<strong>India</strong>n Oil supplies precious petroleum products through an unmatched<br />

countrywide network of above 38,000 touch points, which correspond to about<br />

52 per cent of the industry infrastructure. It operates more than 20,000 outlets,<br />

the largest and most extensive network of retail outlets. The corporation's Indane<br />

cooking gas reaches the doorsteps of about 65 million households through about<br />

5,934 distributors. These efforts are backed by supplies from 139 terminals and<br />

depots, 96 aviation fuel stations and 89 Indane bottling plants. About 6,218<br />

bulk consumer pumps are also operational for the convenience of large<br />

consumers, ensuring product and inventory at their doorstep.<br />

Over the years, <strong>India</strong>n Oil has grown by expanding its own operations,<br />

bringing independent refineries like Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL)<br />

and Bongaigaon Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (BRPL) under its fold, by<br />

merging Assam Oil Company (AOC) and IBP Co. Ltd with itself, thus<br />

synergizing its refining as well as marketing operations. Having set up<br />

subsidiaries in Sri Lanka, Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates, <strong>India</strong>n Oil<br />

is simultaneously scouting for new business opportunities in the energy markets<br />

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited<br />

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is a mega Public Sector<br />

Undertaking (PSU) with 'Navratna' status. It has two refineries; one in Mumbai<br />

(west coast) having a capacity of 6.5 MMTPA and the other in Visakhapatnam<br />

(east coast) with a capacity of 8.3 MMTPA. These refineries are producing a<br />

wide variety of petroleum products-fuels, lubricants and specialty products.<br />

HPCL holds an equity stake of 16.95 per cent in Mangalore Refinery and<br />

Petrochemicals Limited, a state-of-art refinery at Mangalore with a capacity of<br />

9.69 MMTPA. HPCL, in collaboration with M/s Mittal Energy Investment Pvt.<br />

Ltd, has set up a state-of-the-art Green Field Refinery with a capacity of 9 million<br />

tonnes at Bathinda in Punjab. The project was commissioned in 2012.<br />

The marketing network of HPCL consist of 13 zonal offices in major cities<br />

and 101 regional offices facilitated by a supply and distribution infrastructure<br />

comprising terminals, civiation service facilities, LPG bottling plants, lube filling<br />

plants, inland relay depots, etc. HPCL has state-of-art information technology<br />

infrastructure to support its core business. The Data Centre is located at Hitech<br />
