and Marketing Support: DAY-NRLM ensures that infrastructure needs for major<br />

livelihoods activities of poor are met with. It also provides support for marketing<br />

to institutions of poor. The range of activities in marketing support include<br />

market research, market intelligence, technology extension, developing<br />

backward and forward linkages, building livelihoods collectives and supporting<br />

their business plans; (f) Sensitive support structures: DAY-NRLM has set up<br />

sensitive and dedicated support structures at the national, state, district and<br />

sub-district levels. These support structures are staffed with dedicated<br />

professionals; (g) Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana (MKSP): Mahila Kisan<br />

Sashaktikaran Pariyojana (MKSP) is a sub-component of NRLM to meet the<br />

specific needs of women farmers and achieve socio-economic and technical<br />

empowerement of the rural women farmers, predominantly small and marginal<br />

farmers. Under the programme, 32.56 lakh mahila kisans are being provided<br />

support in 15 states at a total outlay of ` 100 crore; (h) Aajeevika Grameen Express<br />

Yojana: The Government of <strong>India</strong> has introduced a new sub-scheme under<br />

Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM)<br />

entitled "Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana" (AGEY) from the financial year<br />

2017-18. The main objectives of AGEY are: to provide an alternative source of<br />

livelihoods to members of SHGs under DAY-NRLM by facilitating them to<br />

operate public transport services in backward rural areas, as identified by the<br />

states; to provide safe, affordable and community monitored rural transport<br />

services to connect remote villages with key services and amenities (including<br />

access to markets, education and health) for the overall economic development<br />

of the area by making use of the supports available within the framework of<br />

DAY-NRLM.<br />

Rural Self Employment Training Institute<br />

It has been decided to set up one Rural Self Employment Training Institute<br />

(RSETI) in each district of the country. RSETIs are bank lead initiative with the<br />

active support of state government. The Government of <strong>India</strong> provides one<br />

time infrastructure support of ` 1 crore besides reimbursing the cost of training<br />

rural poor candidates, the state government provides land free of cost or at<br />

nominal charges and the banks are responsible for day to day functioning of<br />

the RSETI. RSETIs are expected to train 750 rural poor youth each year to take<br />

up self employment in the area they reside. RSETIs also provide periodic doses<br />

of skill upgradation training for making their initiative viable and sustainable<br />

in an increasingly competitive environment. Currently 583 RSETIs are<br />

functioning in the country.<br />

Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana<br />

Government of <strong>India</strong>, as the part of poverty reduction strategy, launched the<br />

Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY) 2000 as a centrally sponsored<br />

scheme to assist the states, though rural roads are in the state list under the<br />

Constitution. The primary objective of scheme is to provide connectivity by
