An international training programme for the officials from Ministry of<br />

Agriculture, Afghanistan, on seeds marketing, certification etc. was successfully<br />

conducted by HIL for the first time in April, 2017.<br />

HIL achieved exports of ` 3.28 crore in 2016-17. It exported DDT, malathion<br />

and Mancozeb to countries like Zimbabwe, Peru and Myanmar. At the end of<br />

2016-17, the company got export order of about ` 22 crore.<br />

Hindustan Flourocarbons Ltd<br />

Hindustan Fluorocarbons Ltd. (HFL), a subsidiary company of Hindustan<br />

Organic Chemicals Ltd. (HOCL), was incorporated in 1983. It is located at<br />

Rudraram, District Medak, Telangana. The company started production in 1987<br />

and is engaged in the manufacture of Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene (PTFE) and of<br />

Chloro Di Fluoro Methane (CFM-22). PTFE is extensively used in chemical,<br />

mechanical, electrical and electronic industries and has strategic applications<br />

in defence and aerospace sectors. CFM-22 is used as a refrigerant and for<br />

production of PTFE.<br />

Assam Gas Cracker Project - Brahmaputra Cracker & Polymer Limited<br />

The Assam Gas Cracker Project (AGCP) was initiated in pursuance of the<br />

Memorandum of Settlement signed between Central Government. All Assam<br />

Students Union (AASU) and All Assam Gana Parished (AAGP) in 1985. This<br />

project is of economic significance for Assam and the North East Region. The<br />

AGCP will have a capacity of 2,20,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of Polyethylene<br />

(PE) and 60,000 tons per annum (TPA) of Polypropylene (PP) alongwith other<br />

by products with Natural Gas and Naphtha as feedstock.<br />

Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology<br />

Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET), a premier 15<br />

9001:2008 QMS, ISO/IEC - 17025, ISO/IEC-17020 certified Plastics Institute<br />

under the aegis of Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, was established<br />

in 1968. The diversified activities of CIPET include, skill development,<br />

technology support to industry, academics and research and development<br />

(STAR) in the field of plastics engineeing techology i.e., design, CAD/CAM/<br />

CAE, Tooling, Plastics Processing, Testing and quality assurance etc. CIPET is<br />

proactively addressing the needs of plastics and allied industries. The reach of<br />

CIPET has been expanded and it is now operating at 30 centres in 18 states<br />

across the country. These are 5 High Learning Centres (HLCs) providing<br />

undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in affiliation with<br />

respective state universities, 12 diploma centres focus on diploma and skill<br />

oriented programme, 6 Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) provide Vocational<br />

Skill Development training programmes aimed at gainful employment to<br />

unemployed and underemployed youth, 3 R&D Wings involved in application<br />

oriented research in the niche areas of Plastics Engineering and Technology, 3<br />

Specialised Centres provide academic programmes and technology support<br />

services relevant to their respective specialized domains and operator level
