106 <strong>With</strong> <strong>Love</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Muhammad</strong> sa the Khātam-un-Nabiyyīn<br />

اار aان aذا ٰ aتر حاب aاو aن aبدہ aرحa a<br />

مaالaابنaالارابaاابaاذیaخفaaاخرa<br />

نaانaبہ 95<br />

It is clear that this [i.e., the wording after whom there<br />

will be no prophet] is the commentary made by the<br />

companion or someone after him. Ibn Arabī rh said,<br />

“Al-‘Āqib is one who is the successor in goodness of<br />

one before him.” 96<br />

Despite this, Farhan Khan wants us <strong>to</strong> accept his biased<br />

translation. He insists that Hazrat Mullā ‘Alī Qārī rh or Hazrat<br />

Ibn ‘Arabi rh are both wrong and their understanding of the word<br />

“Al-‘Āqib” is incorrect. The question is: Do we accept Farhan<br />

Khan’s biased translation or Hazrat Mullā ‘Alī Qārī’s honest<br />

and insightful understanding? The choice is up <strong>to</strong> the reader!<br />

Hadīth Number 6 – Al-‘Āqib: After Whom there is No One<br />

انaرولaااللهaaااللهaہaوaمaالaانaaأاءaأاaحدaوaأاa<br />

احدaوaأاaااحaاذیaحوaااللهaبaارaوaأاaاحارaاذیaحرa<br />

ااسaaدaوaأاaاابaاذیaسaبدہaأحدaوaدaاہa<br />

االلهaرءaوaاaرحا<br />

Allāh’s Messenger sa said: I have many names: I am <strong>Muhammad</strong>,<br />

I am Ahmad, I am Al-Māhī through whom Allāh obliterates<br />

unbelief, and I am Al-Hāshir (The Gatherer) at whose feet people<br />

will be gathered, and I am Al-‘Āqib, after whom there would<br />
