32 <strong>With</strong> <strong>Love</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Muhammad</strong> sa the Khātam-un-Nabiyyīn<br />

have merely made the same argument that has been made in<br />

this chapter that the superior qirā’ah states khātam and that word<br />

means seal and this meaning applies <strong>to</strong> the inferior qirā’āt as<br />

well. In other words, the qirā’āt containing the word khātim are<br />

subordinate <strong>to</strong> the qirā’ah containing the word khātam, which<br />

means seal. This is not something new that has been proposed<br />

by the authors. When discussing the narration of Ibn Al-Anbārī,<br />

Hazrat Mirzā Bashīr-ud-Dīn Mahmūd Ahmad ra states the<br />

following:<br />

وا‎ ا‎ء ‎أت وا‎ ا‎ء ا‎ ‎‏ٰی ‎ت <br />

‎أت ‎ء ا‎ ا‎ء وا‎ ‎أت<br />

‎ء وہ ا‎ ‎أت وا‎ ا‎ء <br />

ں آپ ا‎ ا‎ ٴ ‎ش ‎ت<br />

ا‎ء ر‎ آپ ‎ے ں ا‎ء ‎ؤ۔ اس<br />

‎ت د ا‎ ا‎ء ا‎ظ<br />

ز‎دہ ‎ظ ‎۔ ‎ں ا‎ء ۔ اس ڈر <br />

‎ت اور ‎ت آپ اور<br />
