‏َازِلa‏ِ‏ نَ‏ َّاa ٓ َ اء“‏ This is why he did not say<br />

” ([‘Īsā as<br />

shall] descend from heaven). Instead, he used the<br />

word خارج (he shall appear). 215<br />

Based on this logical understanding of the hadīth, it is<br />

impossible <strong>to</strong> assume that it speaks of the life of Hazrat ‘Īsā as .<br />

The Holy Qur’ān declares him dead and so does the above<br />

hadīth!<br />

Finally, Farhan Khan says, “The only way that<br />

<strong>Muhammad</strong> sa could no longer be the last Prophet is if one of<br />

two things were <strong>to</strong> occur: The first occurrence would be if a new<br />

Prophet came after <strong>Muhammad</strong> sa and claimed finality. Ahmadī<br />

[Muslim]s will claim this has happened with the coming of<br />

Mirzā Ghulām Ahmad... The second situation would be if ‘Esā<br />

bin Mariam as lost his status of prophethood after his ascension<br />

and thus, when he returns, he has <strong>to</strong> be reassigned this blessed<br />

status...” 216 This is another one of Farhan Khan’s gross<br />

misrepresentations of Ahmadiyya Muslim beliefs. The Ahmadī<br />

Muslims do not say that Hazrat Mirzā Ghulām Ahmad as is the<br />

last prophet!<br />

The authors challenge Farhan Khan <strong>to</strong> present a single quotation of the<br />

Promised Messiah as where he has claimed <strong>to</strong> be the last prophet and has<br />

claimed finality of prophethood for himself!<br />

The fact of the matter is that the Promised Messiah as upheld the<br />

finality of the prophethood of the Holy Prophet sa and this is<br />
