150 <strong>With</strong> <strong>Love</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Muhammad</strong> sa the Khātam-un-Nabiyyīn<br />

The Holy Prophet sa compared prophethood <strong>to</strong> a<br />

brick wall. And the wall was complete, except the<br />

place of one brick, and the Holy Prophet sa , himself,<br />

was that last brick. However, the Holy Prophet sa only<br />

saw it as one brick, just as he said it. And the Khātamul-Awliyā’<br />

(that is, the Imām Mahdī) should see that<br />

he also finds prophethood similar <strong>to</strong> a wall, just as<br />

the Holy Prophet sa has given the analogy. And the<br />

Khātam-ul-Awliyā’ finds empty a place for two bricks<br />

in the wall of prophethood. One is a gold brick and<br />

the other is a silver brick. Hence, without the two<br />

bricks, he finds the wall incomplete. <strong>With</strong> the<br />

insertion of these, that is, the gold and silver bricks,<br />

he finds it completed. Hence, it is necessary that he<br />

sees himself as hidden in the place of both bricks.<br />

Now, the Khātam-ul-Awliyā’ is the two bricks and<br />

the wall is completed with him. The reason behind<br />

seeing the Khātam-ul-Awliyā’ in the place of two<br />

bricks is that he is subordinate <strong>to</strong> the sharī‘ah of the<br />

Khātam-ur-Rusul outwardly. And with this subordination,<br />

he is at the status of being the silver brick.<br />

And this is his outward status and the state of him<br />

being subordinate <strong>to</strong> the law. And with regard <strong>to</strong> the<br />

inner self, the Khātam-ul-Awliyā’ takes those things, in<br />

which he is the Imām and leader for others, from<br />
